Nanchang-based Attorneys Selected as IP Commissioners of Jiangxi
Attorneys Peng Dingdai and Chen Jianyong from Dacheng’s Jiangxi office were recently retained as commissioner of the Intellectual Property Office of Jiangxi province. 

To implement targets and policies mapped out at the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the CPC and the seventh and eighteen plenary sessions of the 13th CPC Committee of Jiangxi province that the number of patents should be doubled and intellectual property should be fully tapped in the structural adjustment of the tertiary industry and the transformation of mode of development to foster innovation and upgrade growth, the first commissioners were dispatched to cities, counties, development parks and enterprises to offer one-stop services regarding intellectual property. So far, the outcome has proved positive—the quality and quantity of patents in Jiangxi has increased remarkably. 

To further improve services regarding IP, enhance the ability of enterprises in the creation, application, protection and management of IP, boost the core competitiveness of development parks and enterprises, the provincial government have selected 50 people (including four lawyers) from colleges and universities, patent agencies and law firms in Jiangxi to form the second group of IP commissioners. The selection process also took recommendations from intellectual property offices at the municipal and district level and relevant government agencies. 

The commissioners will provide consulting, training and agency services on a one-to-one basis to development parks and enterprises, offer guidance on the establishment of IP system, help with patent mining, analysis and application and the implementation of “Standard on Enterprise Intellectual Property Management”, nurture businesses with competitive edge in IP and advise enterprises on IP right protection.
