Marshal Chen is a practicing lawyer in China with over 20 years of legal professional experience and is currently a senior partner at Dacheng Shanghai Office.
Marshal Chen graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a Bachelor of Laws degree and later studied at the University of Technology Sydney in Australia, where he obtained a Master of Laws degree. He currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Law Firm Standardization and Development Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association, a member of the Pudong New Area Legal Services Association, an arbitrator of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, an arbitrator of the Dalian International Arbitration Court, and a member of the National Lawyers Association's Lawyer Service Fee Guidance Committee.
Marshal Chen has been extensively involved in commercial dispute resolution, mediation, and litigation procedures and has rich experience in the fields of mergers and acquisitions, real estate construction projects, as well as dealing with government investigations and commercial criminal charges.
Marshal Chen has issued professional legal opinions on Chinese law to relevant courts in Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the BVI. He currently serves as the annual legal counsel for many multinational companies, financial institutions, and large domestic enterprises.
Significant Achievements:
Provided full-process legal services for the construction of Shanghai Mercedes-Benz Cultural Center and China Ping An Financial Building;
Served as a long-term legal consultant for Shanghai Water Conservancy Engineering Group (the only enterprise with first-class qualifications for water conservancy and hydropower construction in Shanghai) and provided specialized legal services for its nearly 30 billion BT projects;
Provided legal services for large-scale cross-border acquisition transactions for several listed companies such as Shanghai Urban Development;
Provided legal consulting services for dealing with government investigations for many Fortune 500 foreign-funded enterprises; and provided comprehensive legal services for large-scale foreign-funded financing and leasing companies, including drafting and revising a full set of legal documents and resolving financing-related leasing disputes;
Provided full-process legal services for the negotiation, signing and subsequent construction of the Shanghai LEGOLAND project;
Represented a large financing lease company in bankruptcy claims declaration, and through professional knowledge and negotiation skills, helped the client fight for the recognition of their claims from initially being denied to being fully recognized. Additionally, over 40 million RMB of claims were confirmed as common benefit debts, significantly increasing the proportion of debt repayment.
