“Belt and Road Investment Compliance Roadshow” Concludes Its First Stop in Italy

As Italy became the first G7 country to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Belt and Road with China on President Xi Jinping’s recent trip to Italy in late March this year, Dentons kicked off the “Belt and Road Investment Compliance Roadshow” in Italy. The stop on the roadshow was jointly hosted by Dentons China’s regional cross-border investment and trade committee, Dentons Beijing office’s cross-border investment and trade committee, Dentons Italy and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (China International Chamber of Commerce).

Representatives from around 40 Chinese companies operating in Italy attended the event, including Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Air China, China Unionpay, China General Technology, China Merchants Group, Rifa Group, Nerviano Medical Sciences Group, SECOO, OPPO Italy and OFO Italy.

Kevin Cai, head of Dentons China’s regional cross-border investment and trade committee and leader of Dentons Beijing office’s cross-border investment and trade committee, explained that the “Belt and Road Investment Compliance Roadshow” benefits greats from the global presence of Dentons and the global network of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and is a lecture taught by Dentons partners in Belt and Road countries to local Chinese business leaders. The lectures are recorded and uploaded online for companies back in China to review.

Dentons partners will share more local compliance insight with overseas Chinese companies as the roadshow continues to other Belt and Road countries.
