On April 16, 2013, the WSG 2013 Asia Pacific Regional Meeting convened in Seoul, South Korea. Dacheng senior partner Huang Zhengdong, who is also director of the international practice at the Shanghai office and director of the Chicago office, and Qingdao-based senior partner Wang Yu, attorney Zhang Hongtao and paralegal Jin Meihua attended the meeting. Mr. Huang was entrusted with the task of presiding over the symposium on antitrust law, at which Huang briefly introduced the enactment, the status quo and drawbacks of China’s antitrust law. Attorney Zhang delivered a speech at the symposium on arbitration.
Huang was elected member of WSG Asia Pacific Regional Council last September, the first time Dacheng made its appearance in the WSG management. Entrusted by Dacheng headquarters and its Shanghai office, Mr. Huang had done what he could over the past six months to get Dacheng the opportunity to hold the next WSG regional meeting. With the strong support of WSG chairman, ex-chairman and the executive chairman, the Asia Pacific Regional Council finally decided Dacheng would be the next host. A burst of applause was heard from the attendees when the good news was announced.
