On August 28, 2013, China Securities Regulatory Commission (“CSRC”) issued its 35th announcement, in which it was decided that a CSRC hotline would start to operate on a trial basis on September 6, 2013, in order to better serve investors of securities and futures market and protect their legitimate rights and interests.
As an alternative to petition for dispute resolution, investors could dial “12386” to file complaints, seek enquiries and submit suggestions. The hotline would also resume functionalities of enquiries, suggestions and complaints on the official websites of CSRC (www.csrc.gov.cn) and the Securities Investor Protection Funds (www.sipf.com.cn).
