Recently, Dentons was successfully appointed to the legal panel of China Overseas Infrastructure Development and Investment Corporation (COIDIC). The legal service team was led by senior partner Guo Qing and partner Huo Jiayin.

OIDIC, China's first overseas infrastructure platform, specializes in early stage development and investment of overseas infrastructure. It is jointly set up by China-Africa Development Fund, China Gezhouba Group Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, China Telecom Global Limited, Changjiang Survey, Planning, Design and Research (CISPDR), China ENFI Engineering Corporation, and Hebei Jointo Energy Investment Co., Ltd in September 2016. With a total registered capital of US$ 500 million, COIDIC is the world's largest company engaged in the early stage development of overseas infrastructure. It has dual headquarters in Beijing and Africa, and its African headquarter is located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

As a professional incubation platform for overseas infrastructure project, COIDIC will transform a large number of infrastructure blueprints into mature projects that can be invested and financed, through integrating resources and investing funds. Its key focus will be on the infrastructure projects in the areas of electricity, energy, transportation, telecommunications, urban utilities and development of parks.

Going forward, COIDIC will start from Africa to gradually cover the countries along the "One Belt, One Road". It will refer to the national planning of the host country to hatch key infrastructure projects with good investment value and strong social effects. With forward-looking actions, it will serve the "Belt and Road Initiative" and "The Three Networks and Industrialization", and promote the infrastructure construction and regional economic development in the host country.
