On December 31 2012, following an anti-monopoly review on Cameco’s potential acquisition of NUKEM Energy, the Anti-monopoly Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced its decision of approval for the two companies’ consolidation.
Cameco, the world’s largest uranium producer based in Canada, is set to acquire all equity of NUKEM Energy, the world’s fifth largest uranium producer based in Germany. Dacheng represented Cameco in reporting to China’s anti-monopoly enforcement agency on the acquisition. The project was led by senior partners Wang Jie and Gao Meili, who were supported by attorneys Wang Chunyang and Liu Qian.
